Northern Portugal has a rich history in garment production with a highly skilled workforce. Calvelex, a high end specialist in ladies wear was established in 1985 however the founding partners are fourth generation tailors. They are passionate about improving product quality through continual re-investment in technology innovation.
Porto is approximately 2 hours from London or Paris and is in the same time zone as the UK, one hour behind France. Our six specialist factories are located in a single region 40km north of Porto.
As a result of better proximity, manufacturers in Portugal are able to react quickly to meet their clients needs. Production lead times lead times are short, re-orders easily accomdated and delivery is fast. It is also typically more cost effective to ship merchandise from Portugal to Continental Europe.
